Most website production starts with a template. Mine starts with a strategy and an idea. I’m Mitch Alison, a writer, designer, and developer with 20 years in the advertising industry . I’ve served as a Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi and was a creative on the iconic Ghost Chips campaign . I bring that same level of strategic rigour to every project—without the agency overheads.
For two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of strategy and creative for some of the world's biggest ad networks, brands and complex government agencies. My work has won Gold at Cannes, a D&AD Yellow Pencil, and the Effie Grand Prix for long-term effectiveness.
I’ve traded the status meetings for a design suite and a code editor because I’m a maker at heart. As the co-founder of Lo & Behold, I used a simple platform like Squarespace to build a high-performance media destination that feels completely bespoke. The interesting thing here is that you can take a accessible platform and make it anything you want if the content is doing the heavy lifting . The secret isn't an expensive backend; it’s a strategy rooted in engaging content designed to celebrate the youthful brilliance of Aotearoa. By producing original, culturally relevant features, profiles, and editorials, we proved that a standard platform can be pushed as far as you want . I designed the ecosystem to house everything from fashion editorials and reportage to podcasts and video, creating a high-traffic destination that resonates with contemporary culture without the need for complex custom coding

Transitioning an Australian industry leader from a time warp identity to a modern digital experience . I crafted the Where it all begins positioning to align the site with parent aspirations and school-readiness goals . The build is a blend of warmth and professionalism, incorporating strategic web writing, UX design, and full accessibility .

This project asked, “What if you could write a love song for a whale, and an orchestra went out into the ocean to play it?” . The site provided an opportunity to interact with a virtual humpback whale through song and explore the science behind the collaboration . This campaign provided deep engagement through interactive music and scientific data, earning the FWA World Website of the Day
